Dennis H. Stefanowicz, Jr.

Mr. Stefanowicz was born in Chicago, Illinois and he currently resides in the Northwest suburbs with his family. He is a partner in the Chicago law firm of Holman & Stefanowicz, LLC, a firm dedicated to trial advocacy.

Mr. Stefanowicz graduated from DePaul University in 1989 with a Bachelor of Arts degree and received his Juris Doctorate degree in 1992 from DePaul University after completing his legal studies at DePaul and the University of Innsbruck, Austria, where he studied under William Rehnquist, Chief Judge of the United States Supreme Court. While at DePaul University he served as the Managing Editor of Notes and Comments for the DePaul Business Law Journal and was formerly a member of the DePaul College of Law Alumni Board. Mr. Stefanowicz was admitted to practice law in Illinois in 1992. Mr. Stefanowicz is admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois (general and trial bar), and the State of Illinois.

Mr. Stefanowicz concentrates his practice in the area of litigation. His litigation experience includes trial work at the state and federal levels as well as participating in alternative dispute resolution procedures. He has obtained numerous jury and bench verdicts, judgments and settlements with values exceeding a million dollars in personal injury, medical/professional negligence, motor vehicle, elevator failure, premises liability, product liability, commercial litigation and employment discrimination claims. His appellate litigation experience includes briefing and arguing cases at the state appellate court level.

Mr. Stefanowicz also represents both plaintiffs and defendants in employment disputes. He is a member of the National Employment Lawyers Association and his expertise in the federal employment discrimination laws includes matters involving sexual harassment, gender discrimination, age discrimination, race discrimination, disability discrimination and retaliation cases.

Mr. Stefanowicz has previously litigated cases on behalf of various insurance companies in litigation matters and has used his litigation skills to represent a number of national corporate clients in litigation matters. A few of these representative clients include: Catalyst Custom Exhibits, Inc.; InVision, Inc., and The Ark, Pediatric Compression Brace, Ultimate Marketing and Paramedic Services of Illinois, Inc.

Mr. Stefanowicz is an active member and invited lecturer of the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association and the Illinois State Bar Association. As a member of the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association he has been appointed to work on the sub-committees for medical negligence and legislative review and has recently been appointed to the Board of Managers. As a member of the Illinois State Bar Association, he is a published author (See Illinois State Bar Association, Trial Briefs, Vol. 46, No. 2 and Vol. 47, No. 2) and has been appointed to work on the sub-committees for Civil Practice and Procedure, Cable Television Programming, Judicial Candidate Evaluations, the Allerton House Conference, Publications and Medical Malpractice. Mr. Stefanowicz has also lectured for the National Business Institute on the topic of Nursing Home Malpractice.

Mr. Stefanowicz has given numerous radio, television and print media interviews while representing a number of clients whose cases have garnered intense media coverage. His personal experience also includes serving four years as a law enforcement agent and he is currently serving a four year term as Trustee in Norwood Park Township.
