Holman & Stefanowicz Obtain $4,850,000 Settlement in Federal False Claims Act Case

Commonly known as Whistleblower or Qui Tam Cases, H&S filed a multi-count complaint in Federal Court on behalf of their client, a former employee of a defense contractor, and the United States Government. When the United States' Attorney's office concluded that they did not want to intervene in the case, H&S attorneys were left to engage in a multi-year litigation battle with the fourth largest law firm in the United States, who represented the defense contractor defendants.

The highly contested litigation ultimately resulted in a $4,850,000 settlement, which included a $1,600,000 settlement for H&S' client for his wrongful employment discrimination claim (retaliation). Under the Federal False Claims Act, as the whistleblower (Relator) H&S' client also received a percentage of the United States Government's settlement amount.

As an employee of a defense contractor that was defrauding the United States Government in the manufacturing of military equipment, H&S' client did the right thing and blew the whistle on the fraud. The Federal and State Whistleblower Laws (False Claims Act) provide protection to whistleblowers and reward whistleblowers by providing a substantial portion of the money recovered as a result of the fraud.

If you believe that your employer is defrauding the Federal or State Government, contact Holman & Stefanowicz and allow us to review your potential Qui Tam case. H&S attorneys are available to litigate Whistleblower cases that involve:

  • Defense contractor fraud
  • Medicare/Medicaid fraud
  • Sales tax fraud
  • Pharmaceutical fraud

H&S review potential whistleblower cases that have been rejected by other lawyers and cases that the government has declined. If H&S agreed with the Federal Government's assessment of the case, the fraud against the Government would have continued and a $4,850,000 settlement would not have been obtained. STOP FRAUD, contact Holman & Stefanowicz today.

The attorneys at Holman & Stefanowicz, LLC have obtained numerous other confidential settlements on behalf of their clients in Legal Malpractice, Defamation, Sexual Harassment, Wrongful Termination and Whistle Blower Claims.
